Daniel M. Sisson is an electrical engineer and technical writer with more than 35 years in the industries this reference covers. He began in industrial control and instrumentation, designing systems for GE nuclear reactors, NSA power grids, NASA wind tunnels and US Navy shipyard SCADA networks. He then spent nearly three decades at Microsoft documenting Windows Server, Azure and the infrastructure behind hyperscale cloud.

He holds a BSEE from the University of Missouri and works from the Austin area, with short drives to Tesla Giga Texas, the SpaceX Bastrop Complex and Samsung Taylor.

Coverage

What This Reference Covers

Texas is treated here as one convergent industrial system: the West Texas AI-Energy Triangle, the East Texas AI-Industrial Triangle (Texas Triangle), the Inner Triangle (Tesla, SpaceX Bastrop, Samsung Taylor), the AI-Defense Spine, the corridors between them, and the companies building it.

Network

SiliconPlans Network

AustinIO is part of the SiliconPlans network of reference sites, each mapping one layer of the AI-industrial stack: ElectronsX (electrification), SemiconductorX (semiconductors), DatacentersX (data centers), 137ai (AI), and LuxeAutonomy. The sites are built as a knowledge graph, with entities resolved once and cross-linked, so the reference gains value as it grows.

How it is organized

How AustinIO Is Organized

Every facility, company and program on AustinIO is covered through the same four questions, and pages link wherever an answer points to another page: a supplier, a site, an operator or a program. AustinIO is the geographic companion to the SiliconPlans supply-chain sites: ElectronsX, SemiconductorX and DatacentersX cover each supply chain nationally and globally; AustinIO covers what physically lands in Texas.
